Where Is Appendix Situated In The Body?

Hi, my wife just had her appendicts out by a lamba sc osopy? Thw results were that nit was stuck to the bladder in three places a nd had to be scraped off. This caused problems with the bladder causing it to back up the urine and she voided 33 liters? Where is the appendicts and is it near the bladder?

Hello,

Appendix is situated in the right lower quadrant of abdomen at the junction of terminal ileum and caecum.

Usually the appendix does not extend to urinary bladder, unless in odd cases if it is in pelvis position, extremely long, inflamed with omental involvement it can reach bladder.

In our clinical experience, we have not came across such issue in 20 years; still if you provide CT reporting with per operative case notes, I can be able to focus more thoroughly in the case.
