Which Anti Inflammatory Medication Which Will Not Cause Bleeding Or Clotting?
I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THAT I HAVE A HOLE IN MY HEART, WHICH IS NOT ABLE TO BE OPERATED ON. I ALSO HAVE SEVERE FIBROMYALGIA WHICH IS CAUSING A LOT OF PAIN. I HAVE HAD BLOOD CLOTS AND A PREVIOUS TIA. I NEED AN ANTI INFLAMATORY TO HELP WITH THE PAIN OF THE FIBROMYALGIA, WHICH IS QUITE SEVERE. IS THERE A WAY I CAN TAKE MEDICATION THAT WILL HELP BUT NOT CAUSE MORE BLEEDING OR CLOTTING. I NOW TAKE NORCO FOR PAIN. I HAVE ALSO HAD PREVIOUS BLEEDING ULCERS SEVERAL YEARS AGO. I AM WORRIED ABOUT THE CONSEQUENCES OF ANTI INFLAMATORY DRUGS.
Hi welcome to HCM. Anti inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen are quite safe in bleeding disorders. These drugs are also effective in fibromyalgia like syndromes.Bleeding ulcers can be safely treated with drugs like esmaprazole and pantoprazole on empty stomach for 2 weeks. They also are effective against nsaid induced ulcers.Drugs like pregabalin and amitriptyline which are quite effective in treating fibromyalgia. These drugs have little tendency for bleeding.Consult your cardiologist for further care. Thank you.
