Yesterday, I poked my eye with the car door. Today, my eye was pink. Then around my eye had a yellowish discharge. I went to my doctor. She said my eye was swollen. She checked for scratches and didn't find any. I began using the drops sulfacetamide and the discharge does not seem to end. Who should I see?
Hello It seems from the history that you got injury to the eye by car door and following it you are having swollen eyes with yellow discharge. These symptoms indicate infection of the conjunctiva and this may not be related to injury. The treatment is by use of antibiotic eye drops. Sulacetamide is also antibiotic, but since it is not responding to it it appears that the infection is resistant to it hence you need to use higher antibiotics like moxifloxacin. Hence I advice you to consult your eye doctor for examination and treatment accordingly.
Thank you
