My husband was bitten by something last night and it has a red center with dried blood but not a large hole. It has a welt now that is sort of rectangular shape and raised as if it has rows of welts lined up together. strange appearance and its about 2 inches long and 1 inch wide oh and is on his collar bone.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of insect bite my advice is:
• Avoid sun exposure over affected part and avoid any irritation (like chains on neck).
• Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream twice daily.
• For pain NSAID like Ibuprofen and for itching antihistamine like Levocetirizine can be given.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Harshit Bhachech
