Which Medical Specialist Should Be Consulted To Diagnose Environmental Health Issues?
I have been exposed to mold in my apartment complex and develop some health problems over the past year. Some skylights that had been leaking for 4 years but the mold did not surface until the last heavy rain (as far as I know.) I took a sample and sent it to the lab to be identified. It is Ulocladium and I am not finding a lot of information on its toxicity on the web. My own health problems are not necessarily completely foreign to myself but they have manifested more viciously than ever before. Moreover there was an entirely new symptom the day I handled the mold. My mouth and nose started STINGING and eventually my mouth and throat felt swollen and my breathing began shutting down. I have taken an allergy test to common allergens and it was, as expected, negative. What kind of medical specialist should I be speaking to in order to figure out or dismiss any potential connections between my environment and my health problems. I've spoken to the allergist but he did not even recognize the mold right off the bat and did the bulk of his research on Ulocladium while I was taking a breathing test....
