Which One Would Be Better Option To Prevent Food Lodgement ?
I had one of the upper-jaw tooths root canal ed.Post treatment, I used to ve food lodgment problem surrounding the cavities adjoining the gums of treated tooth i.e: small slices of food teer into the gum s and cavities. When I went to see a Dr, she removed the cap along with which the tooth part came out. Dr. has suggested me 3 options : 1) Have an implant by removing the root. 2) Have a bridge by cutting the left-adjacent natural tooth and removing the cap of right-adjacent root-canal ed tooth. Which one would be better option to prevent food lodgment? 1 or 2? Would you suggest 3) a replacement of cap? or 4) leaving the root-canal ed tooth open?

Ideally an implant is the best option as the adjacent teeth remain unharmed. But in your case your one adjacent tooth is already capped so a bridge may not be a bad option. Please ask your dentist if the fractured tooth can be saved somehow with the use of a post and core treatment and recapping. if it is not an option due to severely damaged tooth then you may go ahead with a bridge or an implant as both will prevent food lodgement.

implants are new generation treatment options and have a good success rate , with the advantage that the adjacent teeth are not touched . however they are costly . consider the cost objective with your dentist.
leaving the root canal without capping is not advisable as it will cause food lodgement and that the root canal treated teeth are brittle and are prone to fracture .
so i suggest you go for a bridge.

hey dear, the best option would be an IMPLANT but its costly & contraindicated in certain cases like old age e.t.c.Having a bridge needs crown preparation of adjacent teeth so its definitely inferior to implant.

hi, bridge and implant are both good options depending on the cost you can decide which suits you more, as for the food lodgement problem you can use an interdental brush in the area after every meal that will remove any trapped food and will help in keepin the area clean. Also start using a mouthwash regularly that will also help.
