Hello there..
Vaginal Thrush is Candidiasis (
fungal infection). It presents with thick curdy white
vaginal discharge with itching, burning, soreness of vagina and perineal area with redness and swelling.
Its common and can occur in sexually inactive females too.
You should see a gynecologist for a local examination who can send vulval swab for culture if discharge present outside and confirm if the discharge and infection lesions look like candidiasis.
Since you are not sexually active, you can use
oral antifungal tablets instead of the commonly used
vaginal tablets. Oral antifungals are used a single dose tablet of Fluconazole 150mg .
Other measure which you should adapt to avoid repeated infections:
Keep the perineal dry and clean.
Frequent change of undergarments with use of cotton material.
Frequent change of pads during menses.
Proper washing of the perineal area from vagina to anus with water after using the toilet. Avoid soap and irritants like savlon.
