Dead skin in the pubic area is also seen in a condition called seborrheic dermatitis, which is a skin condition occurring in areas where sebaceous glands are seen. In this condition these glands produce excess sebum (oil) that can result in growth of yeast, causing an infection that makes the dermatitis worse. It can be treated with anti-fungal therapy and mild steroids. Please consult a dermatologist and request for a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis.
