White Patch On Cheek, Knee. Is It Alba, Vitiligo Or Infection?
My child has a blended white patch on the right cheek adjacent to mouth. She also has similar one on her right leg below nee on the calf area. Is it Alba or Vitiligo or just a simple infection. Our Doctor seemed to think that Alba does not happen on leg, so he is ruling it out and other two are possible with infection a more possibility. Thanks
Hello
thanks for using healthcaremagic
I would be pleased to answer your question .
To rule out a patch of vitiligo , the test to confirm is to check under the special light called the Woods lamp( UV light ) available at the Doctor 's clinic .
P alba could be another possibility > the Woods lamp will help confirm the diagnosis .
Hi...dear rajesh..,
Thanks for choosing HCM..,
White patch on the right cheek ...,
no doubt...it could be PITRYIASIS ALBA...,
On the leg...it may be nonspecific...chances...may be worm...,
infestation and use of inappropriate medication...,
1) Apply Momentasone cream...ELOCON CREAM..,on white spot of face..
2) Tab Livamisole 150 mg weekly nce for 3 weeks..,above 2 years child..
3) Tab...B.complex..Cobadex syrup 3spf for 2 times daily..,
4) Clobetasol cream on leg patch...
