White Raised Bumps On Ankle, Red, Not Hurt, Achilles Tendon Repair

My son has a non painful white raised bump on the lateral side of his ankle . It is red around the area but he says it is not warm to touch and does not hurt. He just had an achilles tendon repair two weeks ago on the same foot . I can email you a picture of the bump if that would help? Is it something to be concerned about?

Hi,
I can understand your concern for the non painful white raised bump on the lateral side of your son's ankle. There can be multiple possibilities of the same but if it is not painful then there is no need not worry. I advise you to not pinch or pop the area otherwise these areas are very prone for getting secondary infection. You can apply an steroid cream such as cortisone cream. If itching is present then can take benadryl accordingly. Apply a plenty of moisturizers over the affected area. If these increase then consult a dermatologist.
