White Skin Hanging In Throat, Difficulty In Swallowing. What Could It Be?
Hi, I recently noticed a skin tag hanging from my throat near my right tonsil . When I first noticed it, it was the same color as the rest of the skin back there. Now it has gotten smaller and has kind of a white color to it. This spot on my throat causes no pain and I am not having any difficulty swallowing food or liquid. What could this thing be?
Hi,
Thanks for writing in.
The skin tag could just be some inflamed mucosa which would have been appearing like that. There could have been some infection which could have led to this.
If its not causing any symptoms and is going away on its own, I dont think you need to bother about it.
Hope this helps
Regards
There is a good possibility that one of the tonsillar crypt is enlarged to cause this appearance. If its decreasing in size and being asymptomatic then there isn't anything to worry.Do some warm salt water gargling to remove the white debris in the crypts after every meal. This should help you. If over few months the problem persists then you can visit a specialist.
I hope you found my response to be helpful and informative. If you have any additional concerns I would be happy to address them.
Regards
