Hi, This is Ashish Gupta. I had some white spots on my face, near neck and chin . I was advised to apply VITILO lotion and take sun light for around 5 mins. Also I was prescribed with Oxidon plus capsules and Pacroma cream. Can you please let me know which diseases I am suffering from. How long does it take to get it cured? Thanks, Ashish
Hello
This current treatment you are taking is for condition called as VITILIGO.
However you must consult a dermatologist for the diagnosis as it may be a fungal infection called as TINEA VERSICOLOR.
duration of treatment wil depend upon the disease.
The duration of treatment in vitiligo is generally life long as this disease is chronic while in TINEA VERSICOLOR the duration is generally two weeks.
Thanks
The treatment prescribed points towards the diagnosis of leukoderma. The duration of time for desirable response varies from person to person. Some show response in weeks, some might take years. So continue with the prescription at least for two to three months. If in case you do not seem to have desirable response, you might consider discussing with your doctor about surgical therapies available for the same. Surgery yields wonderful response in such cases. Take care.
