White Spots On The Cornea, Difficulty In Viewing Bright Light Leading To Watering, Redness, Use Contact Lenses. Reason?
Appearance of two white spots on the cornea , an eye allergy or is it a repurcussion of using yearly contact lenses? I am shruthi, 24yrs old. i am experiencing difficulty due to problem in my eyes frm a couple of days now. two white spots have appeared on the cornea , its in the perimeter. i experience difficulty viewing when bright light is there, it starts to water and also my eye turns red. i regularly use contact lenses (yearly).
Dear shruthi...
The white spots over the cornea may be allergic in nature or patches of dry cornea caused due wearing of contact lenses.
Management consist of:
1. Artificial tear drops every 4th hourly
2. Antihistamines to provide symptomatic relief
3. Steroid eye drops to take care of inflammation & allergy
4. Wearing of sunglasses/goggles while going out in sun
5. Provide some "contact lens free period" for Oxygen availability to cornea & prevent dryness.
If symptoms still persist...it will be better to consult an Ophthalmologist
Wishing you good health.
Thanks & take care.
