Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Why I Am Having Discomfort Above The Navel That Worsens Upon Pressure?
I am having discomfort above the belly button and below the actual stomach. It is more uncomfortable when pressure is applied but it is a constant faint ache. Not debilitating but uncomfortable. It almost feels like something is going to tear…? Sorry if I didn t describe well but just wondering if you have an idea off hand. I know it is difficult to without actually seeing the patient.
There are several possible causes of discomfort in the area above the belly button and below the stomach. It could be related to the gastrointestinal system, such as acid reflux, gastritis, or inflammation of the pancreas. It could also be related to the musculoskeletal system, such as a strained muscle or ligament. Another possibility is an abdominal hernia.
It would be best to consult with a healthcare provider who can perform a physical examination and possibly order some tests to determine the underlying cause of the discomfort. Depending on the cause, treatment options may include medications, lifestyle modifications, physical therapy, or surgery.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
