I've had a cough for awhile and about a month ago went to ER and was treated for bronchitis. But the cough never goes away. Sometimes I dry heave from coughing. Now for a couple days my lower back has hurt and now when I cough my lower back tingles sometimes. Should I see someone?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have coughing for more than a month's time. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like viral infection , allergies and asthma , acid reflux, stress or flu , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are probably due to acid reflux . I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist once. Doctor may order endoscopy of upper digestive tract , ambulatory acidity test and x-ray of chest . Doctor may prescribe proton pump inhibitor , H2 blockers along with antacid . Doctor may also refer you to chest specialist for chest infection as sometimes infection is due to viral infection , which do not get better with antibacterial drugs . For now keep your head elevated while sleeping , take antacid after every meal and take steam several times a day .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
