Why Am I Experiencing Pelvic Pain After Inserting Boric Acid Suppositories For 4 Days?
Hi doctor, I inserted boric acid suppositories for 4days. Around the second day I noticed I had lower abdominal pain and pains on my left side. When I place my hands on my pelvic area I feel the pain. I stopped inserted about 5days ago yet the pain is still there. Am I reacting??? Is this an emergency so I can rush off to the hospital?? Thanks so much for your time
Since you are in discomfort you should visit ER and get clinically examined by a GP. Boric acid suppositories may cause allergies, vaginal irritation, burning, redness, tenderness that may require evaluation and treatment. Pain in the lower abdomen commonly occurs when boric acid gets absorbed into the system the toxicity can lead to health problems like kidney damage, circulatory system failure, etc. Since you are having discomfort stop applying it.
Boric acid suppository ideally does not cause cramps, you are suggested to get yourself clinically examined. You may need medical aid and management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
