Why Am I Feeling Dizzy While On Statin Drugs?

I had dizziness when i first woke up during the last three days. Had it again today when i was at the gym, i did 20 minutes of wieghts then when i went into the sauna once i laid down i git dizzy. Once i sat up it went away. I ve been on 10mg statins for 10 years.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Probably statins are the not cause for the dizziness because already using since long time it may be due to BPPV or Acute labyrinthitis or vestibular neurinitis or hypotension or vertebro basilar insufficiency etc. Until examination is done it is difficult to say what it is. Use tablet Vertin thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult your physician /ENT specialist he will examine and do scan and treat you accordingly.
