Why Am I Having White Spots On My Tongue Along With Sore Tonsils?
I have difficulty swallowing and there are white spots on my tongue as well as patches of dark red around the back of my tongue.. I also have a dry cough. A couple days ago, I had a pretty bad cold with a wet cough and sore tonsils. What do you think I have?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain white spots on tongue can be due to fungal infection causing thrush if they are in the form of cheesy white patches. They can also be an allergic reaction causing apthous ulcers. Dark red patches at the back of tongue can be inflamed Circumvallate papillae secondary to infection or allergic reaction.. Nothing to worry, consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and in case if the white spots are due to thrush antifungal agents like Nystatin mouthwash and Clotrimazole lozenges can be advised for 15 days.. Take more of probiotics like Yoghurt and garlic.
If it is diagnosed as apthous ulcers gargle with 1:1 solution of benadryl and milk of magnesia will help.. Sucking ice pops will also relieve..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
