Brief answer: ORAL
SUBMUCOUS FIBROSIS.
Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..
I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..
As per your complain you are suffering from a condition known as ORAL SUBMUCOUS FIBROSIS which is a pre-cancerous condition [ but it is not cancer].
This occurs commonly individuals with tobacco and betel nut chewing habit.
It leads to formation of thick fibrous bands below the
mucous membrane of the cheeks and in advanced cases even lips leading to reduced mouth opening..
The white patches are not seen in this condition and is seen in
LEUKOPLAKIA and it is not necessarily present with oral submucous fibrosis..
As you have only 1 finger mouth opening left the condition has advanced and you need an immediate medical assistance.
-You should consult an ORAL PHYSICIAN and get evaluated and the physician can advise you to apply a
steroid based ointment like
Kenacort over the inner cheeks.
-Ointment containing HYLURONIDASE can also be applied over the cheeks as it will help in breaking of the fibres.
-Injection of a combination of STEROID and HYLURONIDASE can be injected under the mucosa just at the fibres as it has a localized action over the fibres and help in breakage..
-An antioxidant like SM-FIBRO can also be advised which contain
Lycopene to be taken once daily..
-You will also be advised to do mouth opening exercises like blowing the cheeks and trying to open the mouth as much as possible and protruding the tongue out can be done..
A surgical approach can be attempted in which the fibres are broken surgically but at times there is no improvement in mouth opening due to shrinking of the scar that is formed during healing..
You need not to take Celestone by mouth as it is a steroid and does not have much of the role in this condition..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards..
