Hi, I quitsmoking cigarets in 2000. Didnt smoke any. Started on cigars in 2001 and just quit them 3 weeks ago. I didnt lose my voice in 2000, but, have now. Lungs are cleared out for the most part, no rattling and full breathing. I had noticed some mild burning in wind pipe before quitting. My voice is not coming back. Originally had yellow & green phlan (sp) and then white and now clear & bubbles. I am worried about not getting my voice back or having to remove my voice box? What do you think. I can talk some and try to do as little as possible.
cannot say in your particular case. and loss of voice lasting more than a day and/or continuing productive sputum requires evaluation. a growth/blockage/scarring of somewhere in the respiratory system can do this. rather a serious cause. chronic inflammation that is a residual from smoking is also quite serious
