Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been feeling nauseous after I eat for about three weeks, the nausea always happens about three hours after I eat. As well, I have been noticing white dots in my stool. My doctor has put me on anti- acids but they do not seem to help. As well, I have crones disease.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Nausea 3 hours after eating meals is indicative of a classical case of gastritis as the stomach emptying is complete in 3 hours after food; it becomes filled with acid which in turn can cause nausea. Nausea is a reflex mechanism secondary to some problem in the body. Another reason can be some problem in the intestine like sub-acute intestinal obstruction. I would advise you the following in such a situation: get an Upper GI Endoscopy done. Gastric acid studies. Get a prescription for a PPI like Omeprazole. Antacid needs to be taken when you are on empty stomach like after three hours after food, Avoid stress and anxiety as this causes the problems or enhances it. Small frequent feeds of soft and bland diet.
