General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

I suggest you to take a blood test to rule out pregnancy.Any previous history of irregular periods should be noted. Irregular periods can occur in ovarian cysts, hypothyroidism which may cause hormonal imbalance. Pelvic ultrasound and thyroid profile should be done. In case of negative pregnancy, hormonal pills will be prescribed to resume periods. These drugs will regularise your cycles and prevent irregular bleeding.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
