Why Are HEPA,VDRL And An FBS Tests Done During Pregnancy?
hi doc how are u?i'm 8 mos.pregnant then i was advised to have my urine checked because last week i was brought to emergency due to my tummy was in great pain then they told me i have uti and then yesterday i had my checked,the doctor requested me to have hepa and vdrl check and an fbs too...does it mean something?

during pregnancy with thorough check up
some necessary investigationd are done routinely so that it can be known if is there
any risk for the infant.some relevant test are which you mentioned as Hepatitis B, VDRL & blood sugar if normal there is no need to worry but if positive treatment to mother and baby at birth can be given.
haemoglobin,urine test,sonography etc are also routinely and if needed other test are done.
