Why Are Metformin, Iron Supplement Ad Strone Prescribed During Pregnancy?
I am 25 yrs old. This is my first pregnency.. Around 9 weeks. I have pcos about 3 years. Through taking 3 month hormone tqblet along with metaformine and iron tablet i got my pregnency. Now my doctor advised me to take strone 200,metaformin 500 and iron tablets. I want to know the significance of these tablet during this time.. Also its have any side effects? I have only vomiting tendency.. No actual vomiting
I think, your doctor is right in prescribing you the above mentioned drugs during pregnancy. You were already taking metformin and iron even before pregnancy. These are generally safe medicines to be used during pregnancy. Also, Strone is a progesterone, given to maintain a healthy pregnancy and to prevent miscarriage and pre-term delivery. The use of these drugs might have been prescribed by your doctor taking into consideration benefits vs risks.
