Why Are My Periods Late?

Hi I m 18 and was suppose to get my period 6/29/12 Ive been getting pain like if I was getting my period but no period it s been 3 days that I ve been late and I m not a virgen and I always have protected sex also I ve in a lot of stress do to school and ive been taking sleeping pills why could my period be late?
