I have had three cbc s done in the last three months... First platelets were over 500 and WBC was 11.3 .. Next platelets 422 and WBC 10.5... Last platelets 437... Mpv 5.7 .. WBC 11.1... They are referring me to a hematologist.. Any idea what could be causing this. I had bronchitis before third CBC.. had taken prednisone and a cough suppressant and antibiotic. Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Diurnal variation and monthly variation are common.
2. As the count is within normal range, not to worry.
3. I do not expect hematologist to find any abnormalities. Medication are not affecting counts much.
Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again
