Why Are My Stools So Hard Postpartum?

Hello. I had just given birth 14 days ago and today I notice I had a little blood on my stool. It hurts when I make a bowel movement and my stool is very hard and feels like spikes coming out. When I wipe,it just a little blood. Is it normal? Should I worry? Is there anything I can do from home to make it better?

Hi,
Thanks for asking.
Based on your clinical history and query, my opinion is as follows:
1. Due to passage of hard stools, mucosa could have got eroded on the sides leading to mild bleed.
2. As your fiber diet is limited now, it has caused hard stools.
3. Try to take digestive fibers (fruits and vegetables) along with good amount of water. Avoid laxatives at present.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
