Why Are The Periods Prolonged After The D & C Procedure?
Hi ,
I have undergone one missed abortion on 13th nov 2013 any my doc did D&C for me...After that d&c bleeding lasted for 11days it was like spotting... again on 18th dec 2013 again got bleeding but for this time it lasted only for 5 days... Now from 13th jan onwards again i'm bleeding.... today is my 8th day... from yesterday morning onwards i'm taking sylate 250 ... my doc prescribed this for me... why all this happening to me ??

I am so sorry to hear about this prolonged menstrual flow after the D&C. I wisll suggest that you get examined to find out exactly why you have been bleeding for longer duration than usual. I have reasons to suspect that the uterus was not completely emptied and small debris inside could be the cause of this. Get consulted, examined and at minimum do a pelvic ultrasound to evaluate the content of the uterus. Sylate would not be the definite solution to this. Please, talk with your OBGYN to identify the exact cause and treat accordingly.
