Why Are The Tonsils Lower Than Normal Causing Congestion And Sneezing?
My tonsils are hanging much lower than usual. Ever since I was congested and sneezing a lot my tonsils are in the very back of my throat and it almost feels like a piece of food is stuck in my throat and I can't get it out. What do I do? And why is it like that?

Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM, Confirmation of normal location of the tonsils should be done by your doctor. Because of the congestion and inflammation of tonsils it may be enlarged and looks like food struck in the throat. If there is a frequent infection of the tonsils, it should be examine by your doctor and should medicines for the infection. I would suggest you to consult your ENT specialist for physical examination and find out what exactly you are feeling and confirm anatomical location of the tonsils. Thank you.
