Why does my lower back/hip area hurt all the time? It is worse when I lay down or sit for long periods of time, and my left leg will go numb. I also have shooting pain down my left leg. My back feels like it can t support my upper body very well. Also it hurts my back when I try to have a bowel movement. I have been to the doctor numerous times and they had said it could be sciatica but I feel like it is more than that?

It can be due to disc prolapse or lumbar spondylitis.Rest in bed and analgesic are useful as treatment. Mecobalamine is helpful in recovery from neuralgic pains.
