Why Child Is Not Growing In Height After Attaining Puberty?

Hi, My 16 year old son has only grown 2 inches since he was 13. He is now 5 foot 6 inches tall and has not grown for about 6 months. He started puberty at the age of 10. His father is 5 foot 11 and I am 5 foot 9 inches. He has been sick quite often the last four years. I asked the doctor about his height and she did not seem too concerned. Do you think that I should get some medical tests done and what would they be.

Dear
Welcome to HCM
We understand your concerns

I went through your details. His father is 5 foot 11 and you are 5 foot 9 inches. Your son is already 5'6" and he is just 16. He will grow almost up to the age of 22 or 23. You can also expect a growth spurt around the ages of 17 to 18 during which he will grow almost 4 to 6 inches. Please don't worry. Wait and watch. I would also like to know his other parameters, weight, physical built, intelligence, emotional quotient, behavior etc. If everything else is OK, there is nothing to worry.
