Hi,I am Dr. Andrew Rynne (Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had an unusual experience yesterday. I tried to return home but lost my directionality. Seemingly, I was confused when trying to get home from the Union Station (DC). The traffic was heavy and it was raining. I turned around several times to find my way back. I was confused did not know where I was; if I was going in the right direction for home. Incidentally, I am in my 85 th year and in good health. Finally, I returned to the starting point and I eventually got home safely. Thanks. Walter
Hi Walter, You experience might be unusual and it could happen. Possible reasons include a disengaged mind, maybe stress and also the weather factors you stressed upon. If it happens again, you need to get a memory recall test called mini mental examination to rule out any memory disorders. Memory loss is common in the elderly, if you have any associated symptoms like difficulty in performing routine tasks, which you normally did, then you require to meet you doctor to get the test done. Good to know you are maintaining a good health. Try to continue along with a nutritious diet. If you have any further queries, happy to help again.
