Why Did I Receive Pneumococcal Vacc 0.5Ml Vial Three Times On Same Day?
was in hospital and received Pneumococcal Vacc 0.5Ml Vial apparently 3! times at the same time. I also received Flulaval (2013-2014) 0.5 Ml\ do 2 times, same day same time. please explain this to me as I am unable to get answers from the BILLING department involved. Thank you Jana 510 209 2787
Thanks for posting your query at HealthCareMagic. The pneumococcal conjugate vaccine (PCV13) is recommended to be given to all children younger than 5 years old. It is supposed to be given in 4 doses at the age of 2nd month, 4th month, 6 month and 12-15th month of life respectively. It is not supposed to be given three times on the same day. Though probably he would not suffer from any harm such a thing is not desirable and your should ask your doctor about what exactly has been done. It could be a simple billing error too.
Flulaval (Influenza Virus Vaccine) is supposed to be given in two doses 3–6 weeks apart, followed by boosters at 6–12 month intervals, but not on the same day. If what you said has actually happened, you should see that such things do not continue to happen.
