Why Do I Feel Extreme Burning Sensation While Moving My Wrist Downwards After Putting Plates And Screws Inside My Broken Wrist?
Hello; Exactly one week ago I had surgery to put plates and screws in my broken wrist. moving my hand in a downward position causes extreme burning - almost like a plate is wanting to cut through my skin directly under my thumb. Is this a possibility; would the plate have moved within one week? Thank you.
There are really low chances that the plate has moved, but it may be causing compression in a nerve, which is causing your complaints. You should discuss with your surgeon as soon as possible. A new surgery may be needed.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
