Why Do I Feel Heavy On My Lungs?

I had a bad dry cough for about 5 months May 2013 to September . Doctor could not discover the problem, I had blood tests and swabs on nose but all showed clear. I had been on 3 different antibiotics, and two different types of puffers. One being Seretide Accuhaler 500/50 which I am still on. My cough cleared up about October and I feel o.k. except I have a heavy feeling on my lungs as if I have croup, especially at night it is more noticable, it affects my voice when speaking. I have been like this since the cough cleared. Its 8 months now since I first got the cough. Any ideas. many thanks Bernie

Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic.
I can understand your concern.
If I am your treating doctor then I would like to know about your weight and smoking habit.
Smoking and obesity can cause recurrent, uncontrolled bronchitis. So if you are smoker then smoking cessation should be done as soon as possible.
If you are obese then weight reduction is must.
Then I would have ordered PFT (Pulmonary Function Test) and chest x ray.
PFT is needed to diagnose bronchitis. It will also tell you about severity of the disease and treatment of bronchitis is based on severity only.
Chest x ray is needed to rule out infection.
So consult pulmonologist there and discuss all these.
First diagnose yourself and then start appropriate treatment.
