Why Do I Had Lots Of Sores In My Mouth Along With A Sore Throat And Yellow Phlegm?
I had a lot of sores in my mouth last week. then a sore throat. On Saturday/Sunday started to have yellow phelm cough up. Then on monday I felt pressure in my chest. Went to Urgent care and told had upper respiratory infection. Gave me a breathing treatment and a steroid shot. Next day, my voice was almost gone and throat hurts worse. Sharp pain when swallowing. Is there anything I can do to help pain? and to get this to go away?!

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
Sores in mouth follow severe constipation causing depletion of lactobacilli in oral cavity. Something can happen after antibiotic consumption for treating upper respiratory tract infection. Apply glycerin borax to oral sores in addition. You should add lactobacillus supplementation along with treatment given for URI.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
