Why Do I Have A Prickly Sensation In My Eyes Making It Watery?

Hi, I am Rakesh
I got hit in my left eye with a tennis ball yesterday. After a day i still have a little pricky sensation in my eyes and it starts getting watery and hurts when I look at the monitor for 5 mins. The redness of the eye has subsided though. I have a feeling that it has improved in a day. Please suggest.

Ophthalmologist 's  Response
Hello
It seems from the history that you had a injury to the eye by a tennis ball following which you are having pricking sensation and watering. This can be because of effect of injury like traumatic conjunctivitis, traumatic corneal injury or traumatic inflammation of the eye in the form of iritis. The general treatment is in the form of use of antibiotic eye drops and anti-inflammatory drugs.

Hence I advice you to consult your ophthalmologist for examination and treatment accordingly.

Thank you
