I am 49 years old. My right eye is described as a lazy eye, my left has always been the stonger of the two. My eys are also oblong on shape rather than round. I had cataract surgery on my right eye 5 years ago and on my left 1 year ago. I discovered hazing: on my right eye and my opthamologist conducted laser surgery as he felt this was nothing more than scar tissue . I am still experiencing cloudiness and black dots (not floaters as i am aware fo the difference) and now am being sent to see a retinologist for review. What am i up aganst now. I am very worried, scared and not knowing of what the next steps may be
Hello,
You were suffering from high astigmatism, mostly myopic.
The after-cataract or scar tissue, formed in your eye has been treated by laser surgery and will not occur again. So don't worry about the same.
The black dots are called floaters and is common among mypoic patients. The retina specialist will confirm that there are no holes or tears in your retina, especially the outer or periphery of the retina.
As you already have a lazy right eye, please do not worry, but do get regular checks for both eye especially the stronger eye,in your case the left eye.
Best of luck.Take care.
