Why Do I Have Pressure And Pain In The Center Of My Chest

I m having some pressure and pain in the center of my chest that does not worsen when I breathe. It doesn t worsen when I touch my chest either. It hurts all on its own. It comes and goes kind of like labor pains as far as intensity. What do you think?

Thanks for your question on HCM. In my opinon central chest pain can be due to cardiac cause, pulmonary cause or due to GERD. So better to rule out cardiac cause by ECG and lung cause by Chest X ray. If ECG and Chest x ray is normal than it mostly due to GERD (GarstoEsophagealReflux Disease). Due to laxity of gastroesophageal sphincter the acid of the stomach tends to come up in esophagus and cause the symptoms. So Avoid spicy, oily food. Avoid stress and heavy meals, rather take small meals. Start good antacids like rabeprazole or pantoprazole with good prokinetic drug like levosulperide.
