Hello,
Post recovery from dengue you may experience extreme fatigue, muscle pain, depression, etc. You are advised to applying pain relieving creams, take adequate rest and do mild movements to get relief. You can take pain relievers like
acetaminophen, one stat after food. Avoid medicines with aspirin, NSAIDS should also be avoided as it can worsen symptoms.
You should also rest, drink plenty of fluids & water, to avoid dehydration. Dehydration also causes muscle pain. Take homemade balanced food. Take oily fish, it is the best source of vitamin D3, take eggs and liver. Stay in sunshine during the morning hours. Vitamin D3 deficiency triggers muscle pain. Micronutrient-deficient people have joint and muscle pain. Take
multivitamin supplements.
Get clinically examined by a
Neurologist as you are experiencing inserting needle like pain in your calf muscles. Get NCV tests & other required tests done to rule out nerve damage or developing Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS). GBS is a severe neurological complication that is related to dengue. This autoimmune disorder may affect the
peripheral nervous system, leading to
muscle weakness and paralysis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
