Why Do I Have Tinnitus And Muffled Hearing Despite Taking Amoxicillin For A Ruptured Ear Drum?
Hi I have a ruptured ear drum caused from my ear infection they said but I’ve been on a amoxicillin for about 5 days now but I still have ringing in my ear it’s quiet and my hearing is still muffled is this normal? And I’m a huge smoker of weed been trying not to smoke but is it gonna make the healing process worse if I do smoke a little?
Your ruptured eardrum may need several months of healing time. You may need another course of antibiotics like Augmentin or Ciprofloxacin. Contact your healthcare provider before taking medicines. Keep your eardrum dry, avoid cleaning your ears, avoid blowing your nose. Ruptured eardrums often heal on their own. if they take time get clinically examined by an ENT. Your treating ENT may recommend treatment by Myringoplasty or Tympanoplasty whichever suits you best.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
