Yesterday night, my throat began feeling heavy like theres mucus down there. I couldn t sleep all that well and when I woke up it was worse. I felt a little bit nauseous and light headed. My throat doesn t really sting but my ears hurt too and they pop. Whats wrong with me??!!

Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have ear popping symptoms which seems to be due to ear wax build up, fluid accumulation, Eustachian tube dysfunction and systemic disease infection.

Need not to worry. I would suggest you to do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day. Apply warm dry compresses to external ear. Put Otogesic ear drops. Do valsvamanuevers. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may examine by otoscopic means to check level of infection. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics amoxicillin at least for a week along with decongestants.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
