Why Do My Hand Burning After Cutting Habareno Peppers?
This evening I was cutting up habareno peppers and added them to skillet to sauté with garlic and squash approximately 45 minutes later I began experiencing a hot feeling in my left hand - I didn t realize they were so hot until I tasted the squash casserole, so I rinsed the squash of all the peppers and sautéed the squash in butter without the peppers. My left hand feels hot almost like when you get a burn, Is there anything I can do? I run it under cold water and the burning subsides, but now it s burning again?
Hi, Thanks for writing to us. It seems peppers have caused irritant reaction over your hands. Peppers, onions and garlic contain certain chemicals which can irritate your skin. To treat the same, Wash hands with soap and plenty of cold water Apply steroid cream mixed with calamine lotion two to three times in a day
This should help in settling the burning sensation Take care
