Why Does Methenam Man 1gm Not Look Like Methenamine Hippurate 1gm?

I was taking Methenamine Hippurate 1gm. My new prescription that I just filled is called Methenam Man 1gm. The new pills had to be cut in half to get the correct dosage. My question is this: why do the new pills not look anything like the Methenamine. These are large blue coated pills, while the old Methenamine Hippurate are white and a bit smaller.

Drug shape, size and color changes as per manufacturer due to patent laws or simply to make their product unique. So content of the pill is more important than the appearance. hope this resolves your query. Thank you
