Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my 2 months old baby boy cries before and after urinating, he also canot pass urine in one go. when he wakes up assuming full bladder he passes some (half) urine and then passes a next half after 5 to 10 minutes? what could be the cause. COuld this be due to some obstruction in the urinary tract.
Hi...Thank you for consulting in Health Care magic.
It is quite natural for babies of this age group to cry during urination. This happens because the normal full bladder sensation which we adults feel as urge to urinate is expressed by the babies as cry as they don't have any other means of expression.
Other thought is, if the flow of urine is forceful and comes out in a jet or not. If it is dribbling and the jet is not forceful we need to evaluate for posterior valves. I would like to know if there is any abnormality in your antenatal ultrasound scans. If they are normal, I suggest you see your pediatrician regarding this along with a video of the urinary flow.
Hope my answer was helpful for you. I am happy to help any time. Further clarifications and consultations on Health care magic are welcome. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer. Wish your kid good health. Dr. Sumanth MBBS., DCH., DNB (Paed).,
