Hi,looking at your symptoms, you are suffering from Tinnitus(listening to sounds in ear even when there is no external sound) and reduced hearing after suffering from cold.

You need to undergo a hearing test called Pure Tone Audiogram with Impedance Audiogram.

There are two possibilities for your complains after suffering from cold:
1.)Eustachian tube blockage after suffering from cold(it is a tube which connects ear with the nose and is responsible for equalization of the ear pressure with the outside atmospheric pressure). In case of eustachian tube blockage, your ear pressure is not equal to the outside atmospheric pressure and it may lead to tinnitus and reduced hearing.
In such a case ,your hearing test would show conductive hearing loss of mild degree.
You might find relief by taking oral and nasal Decongestants,Antihistaminic(like Cetrizine),tablet Betahistine(Vertin),Mucolytic and steam inhalation.
Also, you should avoid cold food, dust and other pollutants.

2.)After suffering from cold which may be due to viral infection, the nerve for the hearing might have been affected because of which you might be suffering from tinnitus and reduced hearing. In such a case your hearing test should show sensorineural hearing loss.In such a case, you need to consult an ENT Specialist doctor as early as possible.Oral steroids if started early might help.

Also,Tinnitus is not a life threatening situation.Try to avoid giving importance to the Tinnitus sound.Don't listen to loud sounds as it would further aggravate your complains.Listening to White noise music(available on you-tube) might help as White music has a masking effect on the tinnitus.

Hope this answers your question.Take care.
