I am 32 years old. I have always dealt with painful menstral cycles since the age of 10. I have been on and off the depo shot for the past 14 years between children. I had my tubes tied after my third child and am back on depo to help with pain due to ovarian cysts. I always have a dull achy pain in my lower back and in my pelvic area. Occasionally, they are extremely painful but go away after a few days. My concern is that I have never had a cycle while on the depo (which I love). However, I have had light bleeding for 2 months straight now. The past few days I have had extreme throbbing pain and pressure in my lower back and pelvic area (the same areas I have had continual tolerable pain). I also woke up with sharpe pains on the right side of my pelvic area. I generally take ibuprofen for this and it makes it more tolerable . The ibuprofen is not helping much and I am in tears from the pain. I consider myself someone who has high pain tolerance...all three of my children were delivered naturally with no pain meds or epidural. Pain meds make me feel horribly sick and worse than just dealing with the pain. I have an appointment for an ultrasound in the morning. I did not feel comfortable going to the ER because I feel like they will just give me pain meds (that I won t take) and tell me to follow up with my obgyn anyways. I m just a little nervous about the results and like to have a heads up on what the realistic possibilities are to prepare myself mentally. I am honestly scared of ovarian cancer......
