Why Does The Increase In Epilim Or Zontarin For Epilepsy Work For Sometime And The Seizures Recur ?
I have a 5 year old son who was recently diagnosed with childhood abscence epilepsy, he was prescribed epilim which seemed to work to start with but then within about 6 weeks his dose had been increased to maximum dose, when he started having seizures again he was then prescribed zontarin, which worked for a few weeks but then weve had to increase his dose, we have another few more weeks of oppurtunity to increase dose. Why is it the increase in dose works for a couple of weeks and then the seizures start again?
HI Thank for asking to HCM I really appreciate your concern, The epileptic episodes in paediatric age group noted more in comparison with adolescent and this generally does not well responds to initial dosage and obviously the dose needs to be increased, but this will come around as the child go older, but still I would like to advise you to get it confirm the deferential diagnosis, have word with your doctor, take care of kid bye.
