Hello,

Your symptoms are indicative of injury to the left side when you choked as throat is a sensitive area of the body. You are advised to gargle with salt water twice daily and take liquid or semi solid food to prevent further injury to the area affected. Give voice rest, talk less. Allow your throat to recover.

However, the symptoms can also be indicative of infection, strep throat, flu, etc. Take acetaminophen, one stat when needed after food to get rid of the discomfort and pain. It will help to reduce soreness / swelling pain and inflammation. Symptoms will go away if it is due to injury.

In case pain persists, you are advised to get clinically examined by an ENT, to detect infection, tonsil or swollen lymph nodes, etc. You may need a course of oral antibiotics like Augmentin. Your treatment will depend on the pathology causing the symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
