Why Does The Shoulder Blades Burn Horribly After Using The Arms For Long ?

Whenever I use either of my arms for too long, my shoulder blades start burn horribly. And I mean they really feel like they are on fire on the inside but when I go to touch them, they are like numb feeling. I m only 21 and this started 2 years ago and has gotten progressively worse to the point where I can t even brush my hair without feeling it. What could it be?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hello,
Thanks for your query.
As a primary treatment, you can start taking mild pain killers like acetaminophen or ibuprofen along with hot fomentation and adequate rest to the arm muscles. You can avoid doing exercise for a few days and take vitamin B complex supplements for nerve related symptoms.
In case the symptoms do not show any improvement over next three days or are aggravated then you need to consult an Orthopedician for a clinical examination and specific treatment
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query.
Take care
